What is Connections Saudi, in partnership with the Saudi Tourism Authority?

Connections Saudi, in partnership with Saudi Tourism Authority, is the ’first of its kind’ travel trade event in Saudi Arabia, bringing 250 high quality hosted buyers from across the globe to meet in Riyadh with the finest Saudi travel suppliers covering destinations, giga projects, hotels, airlines, DMCs, cruise, tech and more.
The event will promote Saudi tourism to the commercial travel community and establish Saudi as a prominent tourism destination, as well as boost the distribution of Saudi tourism products through facilitated business interactions.
Our experience-led event will offer 15,000 buyer-supplier touchpoints across 3 days, delivered through dedicated 1:1business meetings, intimate experiences and activations,education and insights, and social events – all to present ROI and deeper connections.

Where is the event held?

The event will be held at the Intercontinental Riyadh and will be open to delegates from 08.00-18.00 Riyadh time from Monday 27 - Thursday 30 September 2021.
The InterContinental Riyadh is a luxury hotel located in the heart of Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia.

The hotel is 30–40 minutes by car (approx. 40 km) from King Khalid International Airport

The hotel is just off King Saud Road, with easy access to:

Olaya Street (business and commercial area)
King Fahd Road (major north-south highway)

It means that the Connections Saudi is organised by Connections, and utilises the Connections Way of doing business.

Who can attend Connections Saudi and its events and how can I register?
Connections Saudi is an invitation-only / application-based luxury travel trade event for senior-level industry professionals.

Is there a fee to attend Connections Saudi?

Exhibitor attendance at Connections Saudi is offered free of charge, subject to approval by the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA). This ensures that all participants meet the event’s high standards and contribute meaningfully to its objectives. Approved exhibitors will have the opportunity to present their offerings and engage with key stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

Attendance at Connections Saudi for buyers is complimentary, by invitation only, and limited to those representing markets approved by the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA). This exclusive approach ensures a high-quality, targeted environment where verified buyers can connect directly with key industry suppliers and explore tailored business opportunities within Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving tourism and hospitality sectors.

1-1 Meetings

Where will I manage my meetings diary?

Upon qualification to attend Connections Saudi, you will be granted access to the meetings portal where you will be able to update your contact details and manage your diary.

How do the one-to-one meetings and experiences work at the face to face event?
Meetings will be held at 15-minute intervals. During the event, we ask all suppliers to be at their dedicated meeting table first. Buyers will refer to their digital agenda to find your meeting table. Together, you are able to participate in a memorable experience as an icebreaker to your meeting.

The Connections experiences/activations will be conducted the Connections Way. At the event, you will find different destination zones where you will find a variety of experiences to choose from. Each meeting pair will have a list of available experiences to them. Connections experiences are dedicated to creating the best possible environment to help our buyers, suppliers and sponsors create deep, long-lasting business relationships.

These activities are intended to act as an enhancement for tabletop introductory meetings. As soon as you meet, we encourage you to try an activity together. However, the choice is yours! Please remember to go back to your assigned table at the start of each meeting.

How many people can join meetings from one company?

The Connections Way format promotes one-to-one meetings in order to fast-track the trust needed to do business, therefore we allow only one person from each company to join each meeting.

Can my colleagues come as visitors if they don’t take meetings?
No, there is no visitor access, the event is by invitation only

Where can I see a full list of exhibitors attending your event?
You will be able to view a full list of all companies exhibiting at our event platform – simply click on the Exhibitor Directory in the main navigation bar. This information is only available via our platform and we are unable to share this in any other format.

How does the Power hour work?
At Connections, the Power Hour is a dynamic, fast-paced networking session designed to spark meaningful conversations in a short time. During this hour, delegates rotate through a series of quick, timed meetings—typically lasting 3–5 minutes—allowing everyone to connect with multiple industry peers efficiently. It's an energizing way to break the ice, build new relationships, and set the tone for deeper business discussions throughout the event.

Can my colleagues come as visitors if they don’t take meetings?
Unfortunately, all attendees must be formally registered and participating in the event programme. We are unable to accommodate visitors who are not taking part in scheduled meetings or official activities.

For tourist boards and private sector companies attending, we encourage you to bring your region to life through Connections experiences, showcasing your culture, fashion, cuisine and arts to leading buyer agencies.

We will provide the space and you will provide the experience. There will be no sponsorship cost associated with this initiative. You will only have to incur costs regarding the experience only. This is a great opportunity for your product to shine.

By Car

Self-Driving: The hotel offers complimentary daily self-parking with controlled access to parking areas. There are also valet parking services available for added convenience.

Ride-Hailing Services: Services like Uber and Careem are widely available in Riyadh and can be used to reach the hotel directly.

By Bus

Riyadh Bus Network: Riyadh's public bus system, known as the Riyadh Bus, operates an extensive network with over 2,800 stations across the city. The nearest bus stop to the InterContinental Riyadh is King Saud Road, which is within walking distance of the hotel. Routes such as Bus 80 and Bus 2,860 serve this area.

By Metro

Riyadh Metro: The Riyadh Metro, which commenced operations in December 2024, is a rapid transit system serving the city. The nearest metro station to the hotel is King Saud University Station on Line 6. From there, it's a short taxi ride or a 10–15 minute walk to the hotel.

By Taxi

Public Taxis: Traditional taxis are readily available throughout Riyadh. It's advisable to ensure the driver uses the meter or agree on a fare before starting the journey.

From King Khalid International Airport (RUH)

By Car: The hotel is approximately a 30–40 minute drive from the airport, depending on traffic conditions.

By Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport's designated taxi stands.

All buyers transfers will be provided by the Connections Saudi team and have been sponsored by Saudi Tourism Authority.
