Connections Luxury Europe 2026 Returns to Barcelona for an Edition Defined by Cultural Access and Global Connection
2027 dates confirmed: 25-28 April, Barcelona.
Held from 12-15 April 2026, Connections Luxury Europe brought together 200 senior luxury travel professionals in Barcelona for three days of carefully curated meetings, destination-led experiences and high-value connection.
With 40 nationalities represented and 2,506 pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings delivered, the event once again brought together an invitation-only community of leading luxury travel advisors, global luxury brands and destination partners for one of the industry’s most distinctive European gatherings.
At a moment when meaningful access, relevance and efficiency matter more than ever, Connections Luxury Europe offered a format built around quality and community. Meetings were curated with care, creating space for the right introductions, stronger commercial conversations and the kind of relationships that continue well beyond the event itself.
Designed around the Connections Way, the programme balanced considered one-to-one appointments between the luxury travel community’s most respected names, with shared experiences across the city. This created a setting that allowed business to unfold in a way that felt both elevated and natural, the result was an event shaped as much by atmosphere and access as it was by meetings alone.
Barcelona at the centre of the experience
The main programme was hosted at Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, setting the tone for an edition that felt distinctive from the outset.
From there, Barcelona became an integral part of the week. Evening experiences took place across a selection of the city’s standout venues, including Fiskebar by Grupo Tragaluz, Monument Hotel, and a closing Secret Garden Party at Hotel Miramar Barcelona, where guests gathered for a celebration of signature Catalan hospitality, with food cooked over the grill by Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany against a backdrop of panoramic views across the city.
Throughout the programme, the destination was woven in with care, from Catalan food and wine to workshops inspired by Gaudí’s trencadís technique, as well as a personal shopping experience with El Corte Inglés. More than 45 local companies and institutions contributed to the programme, reflecting strong collaboration across the city.
These moments are central to the Connections model. They give the community the opportunity to experience a destination more fully, while also creating the atmosphere in which conversations flow more easily and relationships develop beyond the meeting table.
A timely spotlight on one of Europe’s most compelling luxury destinations
This year’s edition also coincided with Barcelona’s Gaudí Year, marking 100 years since the death of Antoni Gaudí. One of the week’s standout moments came at Casa Batlló, where the Connections community was given a first look inside the newly restored apartment ahead of its public opening. Still unseen by the wider public and not yet available for private hire, it offered a rare sense of access and a memorable glimpse into one of Barcelona’s most iconic, and celebrated cultural spaces.
For the global luxury travel industry, Barcelona continues to offer a compelling combination of culture, design, gastronomy and hospitality, qualities that make it not only an exceptional host city, but an increasingly important destination within the high-end travel landscape.
Connections Luxury Europe forms part of a three-year partnership with Barcelona Turisme, with the city confirmed as host of the European edition through to 2028.
Industry perspective
Greg Reeves, Managing Director at Connections Luxury, said:
“Barcelona is an exceptional city for Connections Luxury Europe. It has the cultural richness, international appeal and sense of occasion that our audience values, but it also has the infrastructure and hospitality to support meaningful business at the highest level.
What defines this event is not simply the quality of the meetings, but the way the whole experience is designed around them. When the right people are brought together in the right setting, with the right pace and the right access, stronger relationships are built. That is what Connections is designed to do, and Barcelona delivers it beautifully.”
Anna Marquès, Strategic Projects Director at Barcelona Turisme, commented:
“We are proud to host Connections Luxury Europe in Barcelona as part of our ongoing partnership. The event brings together a highly influential international community and provides an exceptional platform to showcase Barcelona’s cultural, architectural and hospitality strengths to the global luxury travel market.
The United States remains one of Barcelona’s most important source markets, with 19% of buyers coming from the US. In the current context, where factors such as connectivity have become more challenging, we are placing particular emphasis on supporting this priority market. At the same time, we continue to strengthen nearby European markets, which account for 71% of buyers and are increasingly seen as a safe haven in today’s global landscape.
Our strategy goes beyond traditional promotion. Alongside our presence at key trade fairs, we are focused on attracting influential events and platforms such as Connections Luxury, Virtuoso/Signature, the Financial Times and Monocle. This is an approach we will continue to develop and reinforce.”
